TEACHER RESOURCES
INTRODUCTION
At the Challenger Learning Center of Northeast Alabama, we believe teachers are the mission commanders who inspire the next generation of explorers. This page is designed to give educators the tools they need to prepare students for their Challenger experience and extend the learning back into the classroom.

PREPARING FOR YOUR MISSION
Our simulated space missions are most impactful when students come prepared to collaborate, problem-solve, and think critically. Here you will find pre-mission materials—including lesson plans, role descriptions, and classroom activities—that introduce key concepts and ensure students arrive ready to launch.
DURING THE MISSION
Every mission is a hands-on, standards-based learning experience where students step into real-world roles such as engineers, scientists, medical officers, and navigators. Teachers will receive a facilitator guide to understand how the mission unfolds, the skills students will practice, and how to support their teams from the classroom or observation area.
EXTENDING THE LEARNING
Learning doesn’t stop when the mission ends. We provide post-mission reflection tools, project ideas, and assessment resources to help students connect their experience to STEM careers, teamwork, and problem-solving in everyday life. Teachers can use these extensions to reinforce core curriculum standards in science, math, technology, and communication.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
We know that educators are lifelong learners, too. Our team offers professional development opportunities, curriculum alignment support, and consultation on integrating space science and engineering into your classroom. Teachers are the guiding stars of every Challenger mission. With these resources, your students will not just imagine the future—they’ll practice creating it.
