Visitors Code of Conduct

To ensure a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment for all guests, the
Challenger Learning Center of Northeast Alabama expects all visitors — students,
families, educators, and community members — to follow the guidelines below.

• Treat all staff, volunteers, and fellow visitors with courtesy and respect.
• Follow all posted instructions and verbal directions from Challenger
  Learning Center staff at all times.
• Maintain behavior that supports a positive, educational atmosphere.

• Cell phones and electronic devices should be used professionally and
  appropriately while inside the Center.
• Visitors should silence devices during missions, programs, and
  presentations.
• Personal calls, texting, or video recording should not disrupt learning
  activities or compromise the experience of others.
• Photography is permitted only in designated areas and when not disruptive
  to mission operations.

• Visitors must wear appropriate clothing suitable for a school- or public-
  learning environment.
• Shoes are required at all times inside the facility for safety and hygiene.
  Closed-toe shoes are recommended for certain activities.
• Clothing that is overly revealing, contains offensive language or imagery, or
  may be disruptive to the learning environment is not permitted.

• Children must be supervised by teachers, guardians, chaperones, or
  designated adult leaders at all times, except when participating in supervised
  mission activities under staff guidance.
• Adults are expected to maintain direct line-of-sight supervision of minors,
  ensuring safe behavior and adherence to instructions.
• Children must remain within designated program areas and may not wander
  the facility unsupervised.
• Running, rough play, or unsafe use of equipment is strictly prohibited.
• If a child’s behavior poses a safety risk to themselves or others, staff may
  temporarily remove the child from the activity until the issue is resolved.

• Handle all mission equipment, technology, and materials with care.
• Follow staff instructions when interacting with simulators, lab tools, and
  STEM equipment.
• Food and beverages are allowed only in designated areas to protect
  equipment and maintain cleanliness.

• In the event of an emergency, immediately follow directions from
  Challenger Learning Center staff.
• Remain calm and assist children or others in evacuating or moving to safety
  as instructed.
• Do not re-enter a restricted area until staff confirm it is safe.

• Use of tobacco, vaping, alcohol, or illegal substances on site.
• Disruptive, aggressive, or disrespectful behavior toward staff or other guests.
• Tampering with equipment, entering restricted areas, or ignoring posted
  signage.

• The Center is committed to an inclusive learning environment; visitors should treat individuals with disabilities or special needs with respect and patience.
• Visitors requiring accommodations should notify staff upon arrival so appropriate support can be provided.

•Visitors who feel ill or exhibit contagious symptoms should postpone participation for the safety of others.
•All injuries, accidents, or health concerns should be reported to staff immediately.

•Individuals or groups who fail to follow the Code of Conduct may be removed from activities or asked to leave the facility.
•Significant violations may result in written incident reports sent to schools or organizations.
•Future visits may be restricted for serious or repeated non-compliance.
