Bring your crew to the Challenger Learning Center of Northeast Alabama! Group visits offer exciting, interactive experiences for schools, community organizations, and professional groups. Work together on space-themed missions, explore STEM learning in action, and make memories that are truly out of this world.

Teachers and students will soon be able to schedule unforgettable learning adventures at the Challenger Learning Center of Northeast Alabama! We will want to share our process with you so that you will be prepared as soon as our portal opens!

To reserve your experience:

Select the dates/times that work best for your classes.
Challenger staff will reach out to the you—the teacher.
Challenger staff will work with you to select the appropriate mission and STEM experience that aligns with your classroom goals and objectives.
We will ask that you submit a student roster before arrival.

Frequently Asked Questions

Each visit can accommodate up to 80 students. To ensure every student has a hands-on experience, groups of 80 will be divided in half. Up to 40 students will begin their day in our Mission Simulator, while the other 40 take part in two STEM experiences — one in a classroom setting and the other in our STEM Laboratory.

After a break for lunch, the groups will switch so that every student enjoys both the mission and the STEM activities. A typical field trip for a group of 80 lasts between four and five hours.

Challenger Learning Center will also host half-day summer camps. These will be available for parent registration beginning in January 2026. Camps will typically run for four or five consecutive days in a week, offering students the chance to dive into exciting STEM topics such as drones, design and engineering, robotics, space science, and many more hands-on activities.

These camp experiences are designed to spark curiosity, build skills, and inspire future explorers.
